Ciao, Miami! Get ready to swap the neon energy of South Beach for the timeless glamour of the Amalfi Coast. Coming up on Sunday, May 31, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is set to debut “Italian Riviera” — the first-ever official collective showcase dedicated entirely to the excellence of “Made in Italy” swim and resortwear at Miami Swim Week® The Shows.
Taking over the ultra-chic Mondrian South Beach, this highly anticipated event isn’t just a standard runway show; it is a carefully curated, multi-brand beachwear edit designed to bring a sophisticated European perspective to the global swimwear capital.
Beyond the Bikini: A Complete Summer Language
What makes this showcase one of the most buzzed-about events on the Swim Week calendar is its grand scope. Italian summer style has always been about an entire lifestyle rather than just a single category. The ITA’s collective format recognizes this, presenting a full vision of vacation luxury that goes far beyond the swimsuit.
When the lights go up, attendees can expect to see how different artisanal labels contribute to a singular language of leisure. The runway will weave together a complete summer wardrobe: effortless swimwear paired with striking luxury eyewear, hand-woven raffia bags, breezy shirts draped over shoulders, and tailored resort trousers that transition seamlessly from a beach club lounge to a candlelit dinner.
The star-studded lineup features 23 curated Italian brands specializing in premium menswear, womenswear, and accessories:
Amazonica, Barbieri, Bikiniville, Bye Firenze, Carolina Galan, Chio, Collanine Colorate, Isa Belle, Isabel Beachwear, Le Daf, Manifattura Italiana Occhiali, Maria La Rosa, Mirabiliae, Nom, Pier Sicilia, Piero Massaro, Ploumanac’h, Positano Couture, Post&Co, Queen Moda, Raffaella D’Angelo, Selia Richwood, Silvia Gnecchi, Toujours, and ViaMailBag.
The Itinerary: Sunset, Style, and VIP Spirits
The evening promises to be as atmospheric as a Mediterranean getaway. Doors and registration will officially open at 7:00 PM, allowing Miami’s top fashion editors, international buyers, and digital style icons to gather as the sun begins to set over the bay.
The main runway event kicks off at 8:00 PM, showcasing the heritage, textile innovation, and impeccable tailoring that defines the “Made in Italy” gold standard.
Immediately following the final walk, the energy will shift to an exclusive, invite-only VIP After-Show Cocktail Party. Held in the Mondrian’s private South Studio Suite, elite guests with VIP bracelets will enjoy an open bar, stunning views, and curated coastal beats by DJ Tony Zuccaro — making it the ultimate networking hub for global industry leaders.
“Cabana Miami and Miami Swim Week – The Shows are strategic platforms for strengthening the positioning of Made in Italy in the U.S. market,” said Erica Di Giovancarlo, Trade Commissioner Italian Trade Agency New York and Executive Director for the USA. “The United States is already the fifth-largest export market for Italian beachwear products and the first destination outside Europe, while Italy ranks as the 10th exporter of swimwear to the United States, with U.S. imports from Italy amounting to approximately $16.6 million in 2024. These figures confirm both the relevance of the American market and the opportunity to further support Italian companies in a competitive segment where quality, creativity and lifestyle are key drivers,” continued Di Giovancarlo.
A Major Commercial Milestone for the Italian Trade Agency
While Miami Swim Week is traditionally dominated by domestic indie labels and Latin American resortwear, the “Italian Riviera” initiative by the Italian Trade Agency injects a distinct European viewpoint rooted in quality and heritage.
For the participating Italian labels, this runway is a massive commercial stepping stone to increase visibility in the lucrative U.S. luxury market. Beyond Sunday’s showcase at the Mondrian, the Italian presence will extend throughout the week via the ExtraITAStyle platform and a dedicated Italian Pavilion/Cabana Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
