Gen Art and Finicky Filly Debut “THE EDIT” Luxury Retail Experience During Art Basel

Art Basel Miami Beach is just around the corner, and the intersection of high fashion, contemporary art, and bleeding-edge tech has a new home base. Pioneering fashion platform Gen Art has joined forces with boutique powerhouse Finicky Filly to officially open “THE EDIT,” an ambitious, 2,000-square-foot hybrid retail and gallery experience nestled inside the historic lobby of The National Hotel South Beach.

Running through March 30, 2026, this meticulously curated concept space features a rotating collection of 50 global fashion labels, a contemporary art gallery, and a star-studded event calendar designed to dominate Art Basel week.

Where AI Meets Haute Couture

Spearheaded by Gen Art CEO Keri Rokos and Finicky Filly’s Retail Fashion Director Kilby Bronstein, THE EDIT is entirely reimagining the traditional boutique space.

This year’s title partner, SPRING AI, is introducing a true retail revolution with the global debut of Spring Glas — an interactive, cinematic mirror system. Tucked away inside the hotel’s refined fitting rooms, guests can experience couture-caliber virtual try-ons and seamless digital content creation, creating a luminous, highly personalized wardrobe experience that bridges the physical and digital worlds.

The Art Basel Schedule: Can’t-Miss Runway & Trunk Shows

If you are planning your Basel itinerary for December 4–6, THE EDIT needs to be at the top of your list. The space will be extending its hours from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, hosting a daily rotation of elite fashion programming:

  • December 4: An exclusive runway show by contemporary giant 3.1 Phillip Lim, accompanied by an intimate trunk show featuring the eclectic designs of Chloe Trujillo.
  • December 5: A high-concept runway presentation by Dur Doux, heightened by an exclusive live performance from Latin GRAMMY-nominated powerhouse Natalis Ruby.
  • December 6: A sophisticated resort and contemporary trunk show with designer Kobi Halperin.

Cultural Highlights: K-Pop and Hip-Hop Iconography

THE EDIT’s cultural programming extends far beyond the clothing rack. Kicking off with an opening reception on December 2, curator Jenny Chung of J2Brand Agency will unveil a striking, K-Pop-inspired contemporary art exhibition featuring celebrated visual artists Ko Sang Woo and Yoo Jian.

Then, on December 5, the space shifts its focus to the legendary intersection of music and style with Hip Hop Beauty. Produced by celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff and BET vanguard Thembisa Mshaka, the event showcases historic portraiture by photographers Mazi Smazi and Cheryl Fox, capturing iconic, culture-defining moments of Beyoncé, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott, and Lil’ Kim. The evening will feature live beauty demonstrations and an elite panel spotlighting pioneering women leading the charge across beauty, technology, and fashion.

The Curation & After-Hours Sips

Whether you are an international buyer or a local tastemaker popping in for a walk-in visit, the brand directory alone is worth the trip. Featured designers include heavyweights like Dur Doux, Andrea Iyamah, Falguni Shane Peacock, Diarrablu, Ala Von Auersperg, Daphne Italy, and Agua Bendita, alongside denim and accessory edits from DL1961 and Mya Bay (curated via Harlow Collective).

To combat the infamous Basel exhaustion, guests can unwind at the venue’s dedicated hydration spots courtesy of Vitamin Water, Simply Pop, and Topo Chico, or indulge in a curated, refreshing summer cocktail menu featuring Italicus and Casa Savoia spritzers.
